ICHIHARA Hiroko + YANAI Shin-ichi “Playroom. 2009”
- 9/15 (Tue.) – 10/18 (Sun.), 2009
- MoMAK 1F lobby / free admission
- Playroom. by artists ICHIHARA Hiroko and YANAI Shin-ichi was first installed in the ground-floor lobby as a subproject of Gallery Lab 2007, and was subsequently acquired by the museum as part of its permanent collection. This is a unique work that takes the form of an ongoing project to which changes are made each time that it is presented to the public.
- Playroom. is a work that takes the form of a recreational room where children and adults alike can relax and play with the artists’ works. It is simultaneously an artwork in itself as well as an experimental space that encourages both the museum and its visitors to think about the concept of the art museum as a public space.
- The official photograph of the first installation of Playroom. can be viewed here. Details about the first installation can be viewed here (in Japanese only).
